About Me

Hi There!

My name is Evan Klein, and I am currently a student attending the University of West Florida going for a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. I am an avid photographer and a wind loving sailor, and as a kid I loved building with Legos and designing in Minecraft.

Why Engineering?

Out of all the stem fields, I chose engineering because I find fulfilment in creating, designing, and problem-solving. Engineering appealed to me because it not only promised to show me how to elevate these skills, but to also teach me a way of thinking about the world that would be extremely valuable in my everyday life.

Why Mechanical?

I landed on mechanical engineering after talking to a bunch of engineers in the field, who explained to me that M.E. is a very versatile degree that one can take in many different directions, which I believe will become valuable for a successful career in the wake of A.I.

Where to After?

Because M.E. is such a broad field, I am still exploring where I want to go once I graduate. Now, while the destination is important, over my time in college I have learned it should never be put above the journey. If I focused only on where I would end up, how I got there would be miserable. So I will continue to value the journey, even if I do not yet know where exactly it will lead me.
